Carnival -
Paraty
boasts a lively street carnival with "blocos" (carnival groups)
and masks galore. On Saturday of carnival, the traditional "bloco
da lama" (block of the Mud), parades with almost 2000
participants.

XXVII Pinga
Festival - 19-22 August 2010:
The Pinga Festival of Paraty is a traditional event that
celebrates the ties that Paraty has with this sugarcane rum.
Live music, local artisan works, famous live Brazilian bands,
traditional local foods and sweets and pinga, lots of pinga make
this a very special experience set in the historic center of
Paraty.
THE
ATLANTIC RAINFOREST Tony, Londoner who came to Paraty and fell in love with the
Atlantic Rainforest and Nara, a forestry engineer. Together they
work on reforestation projects and ecological agriculture.
