On this extensive beach, you can rent kayaks, boats and take a banana-boat ride. In spite of being quite visited, it is always possible to find a calm place, shade and clean water. The beach of São Gonçalo offers kiosks that serve food, drink and snacks. Three islands, Pelada Grande, Pelada Pequena and Sururu, protect this calm safe beach.. Check out this beautiful, relaxing place not far from town and worth a visit. How to get there. By car: taking the Rio-Santos road in the direction of Rio the beach is 30km from the traffic circle. Boat: its a long trip but interesting if you plan on spending the whole day. You can speak with the boats either on the pier or on the river banks in front of the main church. Bus: all of the buses that go to Angra dos Reis or divisa Angra pass the beach. The service is frequent with a bus about every hour.
